Hotels
We have a block of rooms in the Mariott Courtyard San Francisco Larkspur Landing/Marin County, which is just a few miles north of Mill Valley. The location is great for exploring the North Bay (hiking, wine, etc) as well.
Use this link or call the hotel and ask for the "Ann Shue Wedding" event to get a discounted rate in the block of rooms.
There are many other hotels in the area. We recommend staying in Marin County, i.e. on the north end of the Golden Gate Bridge, rather than in the City (San Francisco) itself, as it will make logistics much easier. Some options include:
- Mill Valley Inn, in downtown Mill Valley and walking distance from the wedding venue.
- Holiday Inn Express Mill Valley San Francisco Area, in Mill Valley very close to the community center where the reception is located. Likely a good choice for those who won't have a car and plan to Uber/Lyft/taxi to the reception.
- A number of local and chain hotels in cities a few miles further north on 101: Corte Madera and San Rafael. We recommend not going too much further north (Novato, Petaluma) as the travel time starts to become more significant.
Travel
Mill Valley is in the Bay Area, in Marin County. It is just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.
If you're flying in, the San Francisco (SFO) or Oakland (OAK) airports are the most convenient. From either airport, you can rent a car and drive north (from SFO, through SF and across the Golden Gate Bridge; from OAK, up through Berkeley and across the Richmond Bridge).
Some public transit options also exist: the Marin Airporter bus will take you from SFO up to Marin County, and has a stop at Larkspur Landing, relatively close (an adventurous walk or a short Uber/Lyft/taxi ride) to the hotel. If you fly into OAK, you could take BART across the Bay into SF and then catch a bus up to Marin, if so inclined.
